  A Taekwondo athlete identified as Maria Uchenna Raphael, has been killed in a motor accident in Nasarawa State. Maria, who was a silver medal winner for team Nasarawa in the just concluded Bayelsa Open Taekwondo tournament, was crushed to death by a truck in Lafia, the state capital on Friday, August 26. The Nasarawa State Ministry of Youth and Sports Development, in a statement on Saturday, revealed that Maria had gone to purchase some items from a grocery store along UAC road few hours after returning home from the championship in Yenagoa, which ended on August 24th, 2022. The Nigeria Police Force, NPF has suspended two Supernumerary Police Officers identified as Obaze Emmanuella Uju and Obaze Blessing for what has been described as discreditable conduct and violation of Social media policy. In a statement signed by the force public relations officer, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, CSP the police described the violation as a breach of the provisions of the Police Act, 2020, and the Nigeria Police Guidelines for Recruitment/Promotion/Discipline of Supernumerary Police (SPY) 2013 by the Inspector-General of Police, as captured in a video posted by one of the officers in a viral video on August 3, 2022.   The Police in Enugu State have arrested three women for alleged conspiracy, trafficking of newborn twins and murder of the mother of the twins. The suspects identified as Ukorie Cynthia, Onyia Pauline, and Aroh Ijeoma, were arraigned in court and have been remanded in Enugu Correctional Custodial Centre. DSP Daniel Ndukwe, who is the Spokesperson of the command, disclosed that the suspects conspired and sold the newborn twins for N3m and gave the mother, Chinenye Odoh, the sum of N1.8m.   A viral video has captured the heartwarming moment some child beggars contributed money for their benefactor after he told them he was hungry. The young man, who often gives the children cash gifts whenever he sees them begging on the streets, decided to tell them he was hungry and didn’t have any money to eat, to see their reaction. The moment the youngsters learnt their benefactor was hungry, they contributed money from what they had made that day and handed it over to him to get food. He shook hands with each of the kids and praised them for their thoughtful act. However, he returned the money and gave each of them a N1,000 note to share.    A 90-year-old man simply identified as Baizire Jean Marie has revealed that throughout his life, he has never slept with any woman. Baizire stated that he has a primary level of education but it has not been beneficial to him since he was unable to secure any job with his certificate. While speaking with newsmen, the 90-year-old man revealed that he spent his entire life in his village without going anywhere. He said he wanted to have a child like other people but because he had not been in a romantic relationship with any woman before, he is yet to achieve his dream.
