Alaafin of Oyo is not dëad – Aide


 The Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Adeyemi’s media aide, Bode Durojaiye, says contrary to media reports, the traditional ruler is not dead.

It was reported in the early hours of Saturday , April 23 that the Alaafin has passed on. He was alleged to have died on Friday at the Afe Babalola University Teaching Hospital, Ado Ekiti, Ekiti State.

According to The Sun, Bode in a statement released moments ago, dismissed the reports as fake news, adding that the 83-year-old monarch is hale and hearty.

The aide said; “It has come to the notice of the Office of the Director of Media and Publicity to the Alaafin of Oyo about a fake report making the wave in the social media, by a disgruntled group of bloggers, about the imaginary death of His Imperial Majesty, IKu Baba Yeye, Oba (Dr.) Lamidi Olayiwola Adeyemi 111, the Alaafin of Oyo.

“Members of the public are hereby urged to disregard the unfounded report, as the Paramount Ruler is hale and hearty .

“Precisely on Monday and Tuesday this week, Oba Adeyemi, accompanied by some of his wives (Ayabas), children, aides and well wishers was at the Durbar Stadium ,Oyo, for physical fitness exercises as usual.

“He has neither fallen sick nor rushed to the hospital for any serious ailment, hence he and his family remain agile and active .

“The general public should not entertain any fear at all, as IKu Baba Yeye is healthy, physically fit and mentally stable.”

Good Samaritan narrates experience with pregnant woman he offered a lift

  A Nigerian man has narrated how he helped a pregnant woman whom he saw on the road, deliver her twin babies in his car. Sharing his experience, the man identified as Idris Yekini revealed how he got so scared after she began to scream and deliver inside his car. He said, “A woman gave birth to twins in my car. On my way to work this morning, I saw a pregnant woman standing by the road side.
