  The Indigenous People of Biafra are protesting the move to name the second River Niger Bridge after the President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.). The group, in a statement on Monday by its Media and Publicity Secretary, Emma Powerful, said it rejects naming the bridge after Buhari, “because he came to power and completely sidelined its people.” The group claimed that under Buhari’s watch, South-East youths have been slaughtered by security agents with reckless abandon. IPOB said the bridge should rather be called ‘Achuzie Bridge” or any other accomplished Igbo patriots, adding that no Igboman has been named after any big project in the North.   Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El Rufai, has admitted that the Nigerian government has knowledge of the identity of bandits and their camps. Speaking on Wednesday in reaction to the attack by bandits of an Abuja-Kaduna train on Monday evening, the governor said authorities also listen to the conversations of the armed groups terrorising the North-West. According to El-Rufai; “We know where their camps are. We know their camps, we have the maps; we know everything. We have their phone numbers and listen to their conversation sometimes.   Nigerians have been asked to raise funds for the treatment of patients who sustained injuries in Monday night’s attack on a train heading to Kaduna from Abuja, the nation’s capital. Minister of Transportation Rotimi Amaechi, made the appeal on Wednesday, during a visit to victims who are being treated at the 44 Nigerian Army Reference Hospital in Kaduna State. He revealed that the Nigerian Army did not charge the patients for the treatment. Amaechi pleaded with citizens to contribute money to enable the hospital continue with advanced treatment as some of the patients who have bullets in their body may need surgery.   A Nigerian man, Olaseni Odukoya, came online to call out someone he borrowed N750,000 since 2021 and has refused to pay all back. The debtor only repaid N300,000 of the borrowed sum, asking Olaseni to draft a letter for a N90,000 monthly repayment.   Reports coming out of Kenya suggest that a suspected thief climbed a street light pole to save his life after a mob nearly descended on him. It was gathered that the incident occurred in Meru County, where the robber climbed to the top of a street light to escape beating. An eyewitness known on Twitter as @KIFARUreloaded claims the thief stayed on the pole for two days as a crowd gathered and waited for him to come down.   The Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, has disclosed that he warned about possible attãcks on the rail line and tracks that could lead to loss of lives and property before the Abuja-Kaduna terror attack that claimed lives on Monday.   A doping doctor with the Confederation of Africa Football (CAF), Dr. Joseph Kabungo died shortly after Ghana stopped Nigeria from qualifying for the 2022 World Cup on Tuesday, March 29.
